Update the metadata for a specific file without changing the file content itself. This allows you to modify file categories, tags, customer associations, and other metadata to better organize and manage your file storage.

Common use cases include updating file categories, adding or removing tags, associating files with customers or business processes, and updating file descriptions.

Info

This endpoint only updates metadata, not the file content. To replace file content, you would need to delete the existing file and upload a new one.

Metadata updates are immediately reflected in both API and SFTP access.
